Christina Mascarenas is a 5th-generationColoradan. Her family has called Colorado home for more than 140 years. She was born and raised in Pueblo; she is a Catholic and a conservative candidate, and a proud Rush Baby. Like many Puebloans, she is the daughter of a retired steel mill worker.

She earned a master’s degree in journalism from MIZZOU - the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in leadership in student affairs from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

She also earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo, and an associate degree from Pueblo Community College.

Christina has dedicated her career to public service. As a public affairs specialist, she has advocated for the needs of our great Veterans at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and for our ranchers and farmers at the Dept. of Agriculture. She has also been an advocate for the disadvantaged, low-income, and first-generation students when she worked in higher education at CSU-Pueblo in the grant-funded Upward Bound TRiO program, along with teaching them professional development workshops.

Her communication experience includes working as a public relations assistant, copy writer, and editor for a company that provided science support to Legislators in Missouri and as a Legislative Aide in Colorado.

As an entrepreneur, she understands how vital small businesses are since they employ 90% of Colorado's workforce. She knows the challenges the government imposes on small businesses, having owned a photography studio that served families in southern Colorado.

Her unique experience will bring a blue-collar, new grassroots, community-focused voice from Pueblo County to the State Capitol.

Together, let's make positive changes for Pueblo County and all of Colorado.
